In September, I flew halfway across the world to spend three months in Strasbourg, France. I stayed with a host family that spoke no english and immersed myself in the medieval city, taking photos wherever possible.

The Strasbourg Cathedral is the most iconic structure in the city. This year, it celebrated the one thousandth anniversary.

My apartment was right outside of a popular bar. I often found myself watching the lively conversations from above. The city became ever more beautiful as the trees began to change colors, and by the time that my three months was up, the famed Christmas Market had set up shop. All over the city lights were strung up and handmade toys and decorations were on display. It was truly magical.
